Lifting with a RePurpose

I am hostessing a Scraplift-A-Thon for the next 6 weeks over at Fiskateers and decided to work a little repurposing into my lift. Please look for our thread there at http://fiskateers.com and you can see the lovely lady we lifted. If you are still not signed up to be a Fiskateer then you are missing out on a great environment of wonderful, enthusiastic and extremely loving crafters. Come on and join and tell them Groovy sent you!

Back to this lift!

Here is my layout all Groovyfied and some repurposing to boot. See the little "journaling card"? It is actually packaging from some of my favorite Prima flowers. Do you see the little birdies up top? One of them is chipboard and the other? Well it is the backing from the pink bird. Since there was not self adhesive on this chipboard bird I just removed that and made it into a friend for birdie number one, which is a product from the Colorbok RipeBerry Collection :)

Since I like to give props to Fiskars I will let you know that I used some of my favorite Fiskars tools: Apron Lace Border Punch, Fingertip Craft Knife, Don't Leave Me Hanging Squeeze Punch, Scallop Sentiment Border Punch and added in some Heidi Grace items from the Beloved line, and I do Love them! You will too if you have not tried them. Take your Michael's coupon down and get you an awesome punch!!! You will not regret it, seriously.

Check out what Celina made to share this month using the supplies she has listed here: Coredinations, Rubons- Making Memories, Chipboard- K & Company, paper pieces from my scraps....

Our latest Pieces & Parts Designer

Meet Katie Turner! I asked her to be my next Pieces & Parts Designer, then mailed her some very random supplies from leftovers I had. Lo and behold she managed to create several projects from those goodies and I made a new friend in the process. Check her out! Thanks for participating Katie!!!
Deb♥

***Note to self***
Never throw anything away when someone else can use it to create works of art

Katie Turner was born in Berlin, Germany in 1987 -- right in the heart of a very artsy district. She's been creating art since she could pick up a marker and currently lives and works in the midwest. She is largely self-taught in areas from web design to scrapbooking and doesn't believe in mistakes.
She's been scrapping the "modern" way since 2006, but has cut and paste various pictures into blank books since she was in elementary school, really getting into the scrapbook craze once she turned 13.
Some of her favorite things include, but are not limited to: Chicago, indie music, food, art of all kinds, the internet, graphic design, her zune & sidekick 3, book & record stores, shows, constantly learning & evolving.
Check out her creative blog at http://telerobotic.tumblr.com and her web-based portfolio at http://www.telerobotic.net.

Thanks again. I really had fun with this and it's an honor to be included with all the talented artists featured on your blog!

Sooooooooooo, I asked KAtie "What makes YOU a Groovy Chick?"

Here is her response that I can totally relate to, lol!

"What makes me a groovy chick? I'm totally free-spirited and would be a hippie if I weren't so addicted to the Internet, of course. ;)"

Weekend Project with Ange

Heading out to your home improvement store this weekend? How about trying this supercute project Ange has for us to try?

Here are the easy instructions from Ange :)

"I used 2 formica sample chips from Home Depot and glued them together and then used Mod Podge to seal the elements on them."

Weekend Project with Marcie

What do you do with those scraps that you just CAN'T throw away? Try your hand at some tags. Marcie used Dream Streets "Fresh" by Amy Teets to make these pretties! They are something you can do while watching TV or talking on the phone. Give it a try!

Dollbabies in August

Lead Dollbabies Artist Jen has created a soft and beautiful layout. Looking at this makes me think all children should have a picture like this, especially little girls and daddies/grandpas. Well done Jen!
