Sound Advice from a Scrapper

Doreen has great advice to follow but before we get there I want to point out how totally rad her title is. Don't you think so too?

What Came First the Picture or the Paper?
-“Say Hello To My Little Friend”-

I don’t know about you, but when I scrapbook I usually start with the pictures.
I’ll look through my stash and find a picture that stands out to me and then proceed w/ creating a layout. That has always been my process.

Well, this time I veered from that process; I let my papers dictate the layout I created.
It was quite by accident too! I was doing some cleaning up of my scrap area…you know that thing we hate to do, but must do because if we don’t we won’t be able to scrap…and I came across a pack of papers – it contained some full sheets and some scraps.

When I saw these papers just lying in there in their Ziploc bag…it instantly brought to mind a picture that would go great with them!! Of course, when inspiration strikes, you gotta go with it, so I stopped cleaning (hee, hee) and dug out the pictures and quickly created this layout!

I love it because, well, it’s cute (even if I do say so myself LOL!), but also because it came to me very easily! There was no stress involved, even the title just popped into my mind once I saw the pictures again! Also, I used up some scraps and that is always a bonus!

So next time I am struggling to complete a layout, instead of digging through my pictures first, perhaps I will start with my papers instead...

Give it a try, it may just inspire you too!
