Scrap Snob: Brenda

I decided to get snobby this month with Simple Stories.  One reason I chose this brand was because it has mini as well as large letters.   I am a Thickers snob, and do not like using my Cricut to cut letters or to make embellishments, unless I absolutely have to.

Scrap Snob: Heather

When Groovy Deb gave us this challenge, I did not think it would be a challenge for me!  I love using kits, collections, etc from the same paper line.  The challenge then became "Which paper line am I going to use?"  Now that was a challenge!  I love so many.  In the end, I ended up going with Basic Grey's Oliver Collection.  With having 4 boys, this collection was soooo perfect when I bought it (how long ago we won't discuss)!  And I bought the WHOLE ENTIRE collection!  Now I finally have a reason to use it!

Scrap Snob: Michelle

I used all Close to my Heart(CTMH) products to complete this page. The papers are from the CTMH Mayberry Collection. Inked Distressed the edges using CTMH Chocolate ink and Fussy cut out the stamped title using CTMH Token Alphabet. Used CTMH fine tip side of the Chocolate Marker for my journaling. Distressed the CTMH Chocolate Cardstock using CTMH Edge Distresser. Stamped the Month using CTMH Classmate Alphabet and the Date using CTMH Amore Numbers. The Pumpkin/Indian Corn image is from CTMH Thanksgiving stamp that I used the CTMH inks and Blending Pen. I did use my Sew Easy Tool to mark out my stitching BUT I did use CTMH twine. Picture is from 1976 but the journaled memories are current.

Actually it was a dreaded day. My daughter determined very early on, that no boy babies would be coming home from the hospital with us. She was bound and determined that she would only accept a baby sister. It took some doing, but we did bring the boy baby home!

Scrap Snob: Rochelle

This month, we were challenged to be a "Snob" (LOL) and use just one paper collection for our layout.  I thought this was not going to be tough for me because I usually only use one paper collection verses different single sheets.   However, I never considered the embellishments too.... especially when it comes to the title!!!!  I LOVE Thickers and I probably use them on almost all my layouts.  But for this challenge.... I used Authentique's Loyal Collection for this layout and they don't make any alpha's like Thickers.  So I used my Cricut to cut the title, which I haven't done is quite some time!!  It actually felt good! :)   Well,  like I said, I didn't think it was going to be a challenge but it was! I ended up using just a couple little items that were not Authentique like the Trims and little metal gear.  But everything else on my layout is from the Authentque Loyal collection! :)

Scrap Snob: Wendy

I chose to use exclusively, a fun, whimsical line from Imaginisce.  This collection has so many fun elements, and they are so many pieces to the collection, there is no need for another else!  I used four different sheets of patterned paper and a few die cuts.  I used some pop dots to give them dimension.  It's fun when you pull out a set and have everything you need right there to create a great page!

Fashion Faux Pas by Lindsey Krauss. Supplies: Paper, clear stickers, cardstock stickers, clear cuts: Little Yellow Bicycle, Letters: American Crafts, Twiddleybitz.

I've long since torn apart my kits and organized the contents into my scrap room, so scrapping by name wasn't so easy. However, I knew I had this one bag of "groovy" supplies and this picture I took recently, and I knew they were perfect for each other. Turns out that scrapping all in one line or manufacturer is a huge  way to save time! This page turned out in about ten minutes. The strip in the back was a scrap, but its colors fit perfectly on the already-printed page. All I had to do then was layer - the frame I put behind the picture and the flowers are about 5 different all laid out on top of one another. I pop dotted here and there to add dimension to the flowers and to the photo itself. Then I let the clear cut swirls lay where they wanted for flow and movement. I had no letters for this line, so I had to reach into my letter box - pulled out some fun laser cuts and I know I can always fall back on AC. :) That outift, on the other hand? Not so sure!

Scrap Snob: Kelly

This month’s challenge to use just one paper line was definitely a challenge for me. I tend to pull papers all the time from different kits and manufacturers depending on what I am scrapping. I figured that I would be using my Cricut to cut my alphas too since I rely heavy on my Thickers stash and other alphas that I have in the file cabinet. However, I came across the Authentique Gathering kit I had been hanging onto and it had everything I needed to be able to use just one specific line. I found a super fun sketch by Dolores Schaeffer and dug through my photos to find some adorable ones of Baxter cuddled up on me while I was driving the boat. I was excited to use some flowers on a layout again and fussy cut 4 from the papers. Then I grabbed my old Marvy Uchida leaf punch for a few leaves.

I was determined to only use this line of papers, so instead of grabbing some ribbon, I decided to make my own bow out of the papers.  I just cut the same width for the ribbon, bow and tails and then fussy cut a little flower to put in the center along with a hole-punched circle in the center of the flower.

I was so excited after making this type of bow from scrap paper. I will definitely be doing this more in the future! It just goes to show how when you are truly challenged by something, it forces you to dig deeper into your creative juices. :) Try it out and have some fun! January Challenge: Getting Snobby Around Here!

This month I challenged y the Groovy Chicks to be  really snobby in their scrapbooking! What does that mean? It means to choose one paper line including embellishments and title alphabet and use only that one line! I Reminded everyone that this would be a great time to use a kit or cut your own alphabet when creating  your title! So as I normally do Let me show you how I completed this challenge using only Authentique.

This layout is using pictures that needed to be at scrapped on at least a 2 pager! The paper is actually completely attached to the other piece of paper, creating a 2 page layout that automatically matches :)I still took individual pictures of each side...Deb♥

Side A~Curled those papers which reminded me of the horse's  tongue  lol!
