Heather Goes Vintage

Some of my favorite scrapbook pages are the ones that have a vintage feel to them. Heather's is perfect for the paper line that she has used. Like her, I feel that working with the Timepiece collection is a great start to a wonderful vintage piece of art :)

When I started looking through pictures that I had taken of our family trip to Kentucky over the Memorial Day holiday this year, I just knew that I would be scrapping this picture of my husband and his father that I took while we hiked. I will be the first to admit that vintage is not exactly my type of scrapping. But with this new collection (Timepiece by Bo Bunny), I knew that I could make this happen. So that's just what I did! I used the Timepiece collection and went right to work! I added in some flowers that I had inked and some chipboard embellies and buttons from the same collection. I love how this layout ended up. Hope you do too!!!

Scrapbooking Great Grandma

I have been spending time working on my family tree again lately so I thought I would share with you today a lo I made of ym great-grandma :) I never had the chance to know her other than to sadly attend her funeral when I was about 4 years old. As I have been told she lived in one of the nursing homes close to my home, but children were never allowed there. My mom said she would always ask about us (the kids), but never wuld get the chance to see us again. Isn't that sad? Ridiculous too! We should be encouraging the young to be closer to the older generations, if for nothing else to learn how to associate with generations outside of their own. Do you agree?

Well, lucky me to have this picture of my great grandma, Cornelia with her daughter and grandchild. Make sure you are marking pnames and places on your photos so that one day someone who comes across it as I id this one will know who is in that precious photo :)

Natural Beauty

Gorgeous work showing today from Darlene! I know you will agree :)
Deb♥

This is a photo of my mother back in the early 90's. Isn't she just beautiful? She is all dressed up in a lace-ish gown so I thought a vintage layout might compliment the photo. I used graphic 45's paper for this except for the background (DCWV?), the butterfly is from Basic Grey chipboard, and I also included my own handmade red paper roses and leaves to the design. Not included in this photo is a tag that reads the title "Natural Beauty" in the front and a description of the photo in the back. :)

An Important Scrapbooking Lesson

Read on, I think Jen T has important information to share with us today! Read on and please take note of what she has to share.
(((((HUGS Jen T)))))

A lesson I learned while I was doing this scrapbook page that I’d like to share with you ---Since my mom died in 2008 of colon cancer, I have found scrapbooking to be EVEN MORE therapeutic then when I first started years ago. Also, scrapping pictures of my mom has helped me with making missing her just a little easier. Though as I scrap the FEW great pics of her like this one here of her in her graduation cap and gown. (I Wish I had More PICS Of Her/Her and me). I also realized and learned a lesson as the main photo-taking person, make sure YOU get in those PICS as much as you can with your family, kids and friends! ....even if you hold the camera and turn it toward yourself! ....cause someday, there will be a day..Hopefully a long time from now that your family will want to scrap PICS of you to remember you. So make sure you give them a whole lot of pictures to choose from.) Happy picture taking!!! TFL!

Meet our New Vintage Designer with her Project :)

I am so pleased to introduce everyone to our new Vintage Designer, Jodi!
Here is some info about her.

HI!! I'm Jodi. I'm 36 years old and live in a small town in Ohio. I have been married to my highschool sweetheart for 17 years. We have an 11 year old son who is in the 5th grade.

I work full time as a billing manager for an ophthalmologist. I have been there for 13 years. I love my job (most days). I also work hard for autism awareness. My son is autistic and was diagnosed at age 2. Believe it or not I DO have time for scrapbooking.

I started scrapbooking about 2 years ago. I made a scrapbook for my niece for her college graduation. I was HOOKED!!!!! I took a break for almost a year and just started back up this last year.

This is my first DT. I hope you all will be gentle and patient with me. LOL I am a Vintage NUT. I would rather do Vintage scrapbooking more than anything. I love to distress, distress and DISTRESS. I love to make things look old. My inks are my prized posession and I literally would die without them. I love to try new techniques and the funkier the better. I also like doing grunge LO and messier the better too!!!!

I can't wait to get to know all of you!!!

You can visit me on my blog at: http://twinkletwinklestarr.blogspot.com

I challenged her to create a lo with the theme of tattered and torn. She created this lovely layout of her MIL's parents on their wedding day. What awonderful gift!

Hi, My name is Michelle and I live in Northern California . I have been happily married to my husband Russ for almost 10 years. I have one stepdaughter Alyssa who just informed us that we are going to be Grandparents in December. So starts another chapter in our lives. I love to craft, all kinds of crafts. Floral design, gift baskets, scrapbooking, now sewing I love to try everything once. I have been scrapbooking now for about 5 years. I think I am more of a collector right now. LOL Outside of crafting we like to camp, go on small trips, and spend time with family and friends. I look forward to working with the Deborah and the Groovy Design Team. I think there is a wonderful team here!

A friend of our blog has created a layout using this same sketch and would like to share it here: Thanks Mardi!!!
