Congratulations Kelly!

When our children do well I think parents should  also take a congrats! The children are so filled with an over abundance of work  from  school that when they bring home anything additional parents many times are a big support in helping them, so congrats Kelly! Congrats to your handsome son also!!!

I don't know why but I always seem to have the hardest time with school layouts. I tend to gravitate towards action or everyday photos so I chose this month to scrap about an Award which I knew would be a genuine challenge!

To begin, I grabbed some of my mists for the background. Then I found these photos of my oldest back in 2010 and picked out some of the fun We R Memory Keepers "Hall Pass" papers and Echo Park "A Boy's Life" papers to layer, trimming some into ribbons. I added Some fun Thickers for the title and then a few flags for a subtitle to show our enthusiasm for his award. Time for some journaling and a few glitter photo corners and the challenge was finished! So happy to have this one finished! I hope this inspires you to scrap about an award! :)

Friday Night Sketch (and Layout) with Michelle

When I started my Nephew's page I had 2 different photos to use. One more formal and another showing some personality. I ended up using the formal one you can see, but for the mat I just cut off the cover that the picture came in. For the title I used the negative piece left over from cutting my words out on my Cricut. I added the Graduation Cap and Tassel to the empty space on the end. Using the same Cardstock cut a mat for my Nephew's name and mats for journaling or "class of".

Way Back Then

It is so hard to know that my nieces and nephew are all grown up! As much as they have each changed so has my scrapbooking!!! Back in the 90's scrapbooking was nothing like it is now. We worked with pre-made decorated papers in 8.5"x11" more times than not. We did not have the amazing chipboard and other embellishments that are so often found today to make us ooh and ahh either. I thought it would be fun to share a few of my 1990's pages of my nephew running off to Kindergarten and how my niece was so broken hearted because she could not go too. Don't laugh! OK, go ahead I am lol!!!
