My girl in her new soccer gear for Newfoundland. We were heading over to my Parent's house for dinner after just getting our girl's new soccer gear. My Brother-In-Law got her signed up for us, since we would be arriving after sign ups. Our girl (Becky) was so excited. She wanted to wear the gear to my Parent's. We got there and the "Ooh's and Ahh's" were given! Then Grandma went to get her camera. Such a long wait for a 4 year old....which it did eventually turn out to be a long wait. Since Grandma's camera batteries were dead! The last picture she is sitting on the soccer ball saying, "Come on already!" But that's how I got to get the pictures of our girl being.....Becky!

For this layout I used only 3 full sheets of patterned paper and some white cardstock. Matted my photos; some separate and others grouped. Placed my two strips on the pages in a continuous line, but flipped the page over to add the Felt Soccer Ball Trim. I wanted to add something to the other side. So, using an old kids plastic stencil misted "my" Soccer Ball. FYI Secret Cover-up:Which ran into each other patches on the ball! BUT my checklist covered it beautifully. Added the other misted Soccer Ball, carefully this time! Added the title with foam  pop dots and a few other little embellies! Complete with her personality showing through!

Donna Summer Tribute

Sadly we lost a famous singer again this year and I remember well her music from the Disco Days! Her music was upbeat and really catchy. To say goodbye to this Disco Queen I have created this layout of my girls on a bowling date for my niece's birthday and titled it "Hot Stuff" which was one of the goodies but oldies by Donna Summer.
I like to use the gallon, quart, pint, ounce method for color on my projects. To help stick with this method I added color using a technique that was out of necessity. My alphabet letters for the title would not stick very well so I broke out the Elmer's glue and mixed a little bit of acrylic paint right into the glue. It tinted my glue just enough to brush over the letters and bring out some of the color that needed to become my ounce of color. I painted the bracket using the same inky glue and left it a little darker and drippier. Give it a try; It's so much fun! I used another favorite Fiskars punch on this one in a non traditional way too. I punched and ripped it up a little to distress my punching. This punch is called the Notebook Border Punch. Get one! They are very cool!

New Crush

I made this layout this past week with my Liftateer friends at the Fiskateer site and I have to say I am having a paper crush!!! On NSD I visited Scrapdoodles where I picked up this package that had stickers, papers and coordinating cardstock called Blissful made by Aunthentique. I thought it went well with my daughter's ballet pictures so well. I am in love, literally :) :) :) Follow the link to go see the gallery of assorted papers that would have been in the kit if I had gotten all of it that day. I realize I am going to have more, LOL! Getting Sporty

I just love sporty pages! We see so infrequently in the scrappy world sometimes. I wonder if they are just too hard to scrapbook since matching up team colors to our selections of paper is a problem. Hmmm? Well, Tammy has brought to us today a great 2 page layout with her son and his sportyness. It's awesome! Deb♥ Catching up on my son's sports book :) I do my books in "two pagers", probably because that's how I learned, and it stuck! So I got to his spring 2004 basketball photos, and I only had the two big ones...really didn't merit two pages to themselves ;) Then I noticed that he did a summer workshop that I only had a few (and mostly blurry) pictures that my husband took. So to flow them together, I did the block of blue with the starred circles in the middle, and then used the same elements on each page. Makes them work for a two pager, yet sets them apart as two different sessions, KWIM? The paper is Adornit, I used Thickers for the title, and a hodge podge of embellishments I had on hand. Water FANatic

My girls and I love the pool and the beach, but I did not realize that they both would enjoy being on a river as well. I allowed them both to try being out there the summer of 2010. I can see by the expression on Kristen's face that she enjoyed herself. Adventures make this a fun world to live in :)

Deborah aka Dance Mom

I am a Dance Mom! Do you watch that on TV? I love watching and see what the moms will do next! I am so glad that at the studio my daughter dances for that thee is not the hoopla going on as we see in the show!

So in my role of dance mom I try my best to capture Katelyn dancing and posing for the camera as often as I can :) Here is a picture that I took but there were way too many people in the background so I faded the background and I love how it turned out...then there was fitting one more picture on the layout. It was not going to happen so I cut her out and put pop dots behind her and it looks like a paper doll of her :)

Friday Night Sketch with Heather and Tammy's Take

I loved this sketch! I had already done my son's "sports" book in 8x8, even bought an extra book so I could add more later...unfortunately, in high school the pictures are 8x10!!!! Oh well, it was one of my first books, so I don't mind re-doing this one ;) That being said, this is my now 15 year old when he was 5 and playing T-Ball--a league away from the Little League World Series champs LOL! We live in the same city, but there are at least 3 leagues here that I know of, we still rooted for them and are very proud that they are from Huntington Beach :) I used the colors of his team, with the blue cardstock and purple dot paper. The sports words paper is from Paper House Productions. I wanted to add a little something something, so I went through my scraps, and used my Fiskars triangle punch to make a little pennant banner. So, I work in "two pagers" when I scrap, sometimes I mirror pages, sometimes I just make them flow, and sometimes I duplicate. So I used this sketch a second time, except this time I scrapped an OBJECT :) This is my son's name, it was cut from the T-ball team banner, and each of the boys got their's at the end of season party. I added the team name, and again used my Fiskar's triangle punch to make a little banner, and done! Thanks for looking :) Tammy
