LAST DAY TO BLOG HOP! It's Our Holiday Blog Hop!!!

***Crop Ends at 10PM EST on Sunday, Keep Going***

It is FINALLY here! A day off from cleaning house. It's National No Housework Day and if it isn't in your country it should be! I personally am loving this holiday already! We have a total of 42 blog hostesses prepared to show you how they are celebrating today. You will find the list below my project. Read further down to see how you can earn a prize too :) I created this project below to help me get through the mess that was being created in my house last month.

We had quite a disaster zone in our bathroom and throughout the house! When the workmen went home and left big messes for me each night, I still wanted to sweep because of all the dust they were creating. I use the term "wanted to" very loosely because really it was a need. A need to have some sort of order from the catastrophe they were creating and need for my allergies to be under control.I know right?!?! Wanna see what they did to my bathroom on day one?

Here is why it all began: Mildew! Clean clean clean and this stuff would NOT go away. SO it took tearing down all the walls, the floor, the ceiling, the vanity, removal of the toilet, the tub, linen closet, and master bedroom closet! NASTY!

It turned out much better than I expected but the guys who did the work did leave a residue on the new floor they put down and paint on my hardwood floor down the hall and get this!!! when they rehung the towel bar and toilet paper holder it was not tight enough so both have fallen off already along with the overflow in the tub...still need some work or I would show you the outcome. Let's get down to business! All you have to do is leave me a comment telling me what housework you are avoiding today that is a must for every other day of the year and where in the world you are to earn your chance at a big box of new scrapbooking paper of assorted companies :) All is in mint condition and smoke free. I know that is important to some so just in case :) Now on your way from here to the next blog hopping chick (#2) but in case you lose your way here is a master list of scrappy bloggers not cleaning house today!!! Go see 'em all. You have until April 10,10PM. Thanks for being here! We ♥ You! Deb♥

  2. Well, I will not being doing Laundry today! But I know there will be some type of housework happening since I have a 4and 1 year old running around here!

  3. This holiday should come once a week. Well, since it is this week that means tending to the garden will have to wait til next week. I'm highly disappointed. LOL! That leaves me plenty of time to color with my Copics! I might have to do that on the patio becuase here in Mesa, AZ we are expecting some nice weather. I want to enjoy it, before it's 100 degrees again.

  4. This comment box isn't long enough to list all of the house work I am not doing...the most obvious is folding & putting away the 9 loads of laundry currently housed in baskets in my bedroom!!

  5. There should be a song made for this day, so we can all blast it loud on our stereos and dance around the house.

Fun idea for a blog hop. Thanks so much.

  6. I am avoiding laundry today...I'd like to avoid dishes but i just can't stand seeing a pile of dirty dishes in the sink! Ewwwwwwww! Good luck staying away from the housework, I know it will be hard no matter how much we want too! :0)

  12. Wow what a mess they made of your bathroom. Now that I said that I am not sure if I am talking before or after they fixed it :)

I love this holiday weekend that you are planning. With three days, I think I can make it through the list. If I took it really seriously and really observed the holiday, I guess I could do it in one!

Thanks for hostessing another fun event!

  15. WAHHHHHHHHHH, why havent I heard of this day before today **throws down the mop, takes off the "marigolds", unties 1940's hankerchief from hair & removes rollers**

I shall be leaving the washing pile alone, as well as not dusting the electricals ... things such as the tv, pc etc are black so show every bit of dust & need very regular dusting.

    ReplyDelete

  30. Deb, what a great holiday to celebrate, wish we could celebrate everyday, lol. I will be avoiding vacuuming today!

    ReplyDelete
  31. We had the same thing happen last summer. My husband wanted to surprise me by rearranging the furniture in our bedroom while I was in town shopping. Then he had to call and tell me to get some plumbing supplies because when he moved the dresser away from the wall connecting our bathroom and bedroom, the whole thing was covered in mold and was soggy with all the water between the tub and wall. He tore everything out and put in a new tub/shower and rebuilt the wall, but it took a couple of days and even now, one of the towel racks has not be put back up. Good thing is I like our new shower.
    Enjoy "No Housework Day".

I too hate housework and luckily, I found someone who loves it and came over on Tuesday and cleaned my house for me! I also ran the dishwasher so I'm good for clean dishes the next couple of days! Had all my scrapbooking supplies spread out over my dining room table from a crop last week. Boxed everything up, think I'll have to unbox them and scrap today!

  64. I'm refusing to cook dinner! It's a rule in our family (since I was very young) that if Mom breaks a fingernail, we go out to dinner, so we faked it this morning and Mom supposedly broke a fingernail. Now, we all know that since she had them done just two days ago, that could not have happened with a lot of pain, but we're going to dinner anyway. So, yeah!!!

Your bathroom does look a bit like a disaster and I can only say that I'm jealous! Ours should look like that about now, but we haven't started yet. I'm not looking forward to it because we have a tub with cracks in it, the floor we layed 3 years ago has pulled apart badly so I know there's mold and dry rot. Ugh!

    ReplyDelete
  65. Today I will not be making any beds or doing any dishes. Oh and I refuse to do any laundry today...today I will do something creative....maybe...or maybe I will simply enjoy reading blogs.

    ReplyDelete
  90. I won't be doing any vaccuuming today! I've been busting my butt catching up on my laundry as it was starting to take over the house. It makes it hard when disabilities take over & even the simplest things like housework become difficult. Having a bathroom redone is a nightmare. My brother redid mine a couple of years ago & I must say he did an awesome job. (nothings fallen down)Great sign. TFS!

    ReplyDelete
  91. Well, there's one that I have been avoiding and hubby has been complaining and that's vacuuming. I must say that it's his fault. His mother came for a visit and he wanted to make sure the belt on her vac was good because she was going back to Florida. He then took mine off and put hers on mine and mine on hers. So when he went to use it he found the belt was bad so I haven't been able to vac since. It's driving me crazy. I have a little one in the house so now he's taken to vac with the killer vac that's too heavy for me to move.

I love your sign it's great.

  105. I am faithfully avoiding the dishes for the whole weekend! My boyfriend is going to do them! Good luck on your bathroom. We have a hole in our livingroom wall that we're making into a pass thru to the kitchen - totally am sympathetic to the dust issue!

  114. Deb,
I just had to come back and tell you that I did it! I completed the whole hop! I took a couple of days, but it is all done!

This has been so fun and I know it was a lot of work for you. Thank you so much for all of the time you have put into it. It was a such a fun theme!

  115. Love the door sign you made! I know all about renovations. My husband and I completely gutted our kitchen in the house we used to live in. Since we did all the work ourselves, it took us 8 months. But of course we didn't have children then and could do such a ridiculous thing! HA!

  129. I avoided dusting and doing dishes all weekend! My hubby asked what was going on, and I told him I was partipating in No Housework Day all weekend. He giggled until he saw all the dishes mounting after breakfast this morning. Sweet guy cleaned the whole kitchen! I think I need to celebrate it more often, lol!
