Raisin Boat: Get in Gear with Darlene

Using Raisin Boat's "Get in Gear" Darlene was able to capture a time in history that some may not consider scrapbooking. We should include moments other than holidays and this is a fine example of that. We as Americans are thankful! Happy July 4th!!!

My husband did a tour to the Middle East a few years ago and hardly took any photos during his year long deployment until the very end. I thought he looked pretty tough and cute on this tank so naturally I had to scrap it!

I kept it simple with just a few layers under the photo and some stamping throughout. The background paper (Basic Grey) was stamped with a Raisin Boat Distress stamp and the gears on the left of the photo are also stamped. I had a set of super awesome military themed stamps so I also used that for the title and quote at the bottom of the layout.

Do you have any military or patriotic layouts to share with us at IIG? We'd love to see!

Thanks for taking a peek!

  2. Love this layout Darlene! The distressed background with the military stamps at the bottom are great, but the gears are what makes this work for me. It looks like you stamped the gears on the same paper as the matting and I love that effect!
