Innocence with Sweet Daddy

Here, here!
Deb♥

The pictures in this layout were taken with my first really good digital camera, a Nikon Coolpix 8700. I was still learning how to focus and use all the buttons. I took these pictures in black and white for fun and even though they aren't the best pictures I've taken, the blurriness lends a softness to the situation captured in the picture.

Everyday my daughter and I wait with anticipation for Sweet Daddy to come home from work. She had just gotten a brand new, unstained rocking chair from Michaels bought by her grandma and loved sitting in it and watching TV. So this day she sat in her new chair and waited for him to come greet her. I thought it was sweet how she reached out for his whistle and he touched her head against his. Innocence briefly touching the hardened world. A hero in my own home.

  1. I am glad to see this one up for all to see! This is one of my favorite layouts because it transports me back and it brings up a lot of emotions for me....hence the goal of my scrapbooking experience. In California, Correctional Officers are seen as enemies because they are state employees and a few here and there have abused their power, but there is a need and these people answer the call. You would cringe if you knew what he went through in a year being around murderers, child molesters, rapists, hardened gang members, and everything that goes with that. I thank all of our COs for making sure that we have such a low rate of escapees and keeping the public safe!

  2. OMG…I seriously started to tear up when I saw the pic of your hubby and daughter and read your description! In this world of such chaos, it is welcomed sight to see such a moment as sweet and loving as that. And even though the photos are “out-of-focus” (although they look fine to me), they are truly beautiful!
