In Love

Rochelle's multi-photo layout is perfect! Take notice of the  pictures. I love the photo from behind, the closeup of the couple's hands and everything else :)
Deb♥

I totally struggle with 2 page layouts!  But since I am making a wedding album for my Cousin-in-law, I had to go back to multi-photo pages and/or 2 page layouts.   I used a sketch from SketchSavvy for my inspiration and really loved how this page came out.  I even went a little further with thinking outside the box and actually busted out my sewing machine and STITCHED around the heart!!!! :)   Overall, I love how this page came out and I think the heart and stitching really pulled the 2 page together for an ultimate moment shot!!

Soccer Mom Shares A Story

Wait until you see Michelle's sweet little soccer star!
Deb♥

My girl in her new soccer gear for Newfoundland. We were heading over to my Parent's house for dinner after just getting our girl's new soccer gear. My Brother-In-Law got her signed up for us, since we would be arriving after sign ups. Our girl (Becky) was so excited. She wanted to wear the gear to my Parent's. We got there and the "Ooh's and Ahh's" were given! Then Grandma went to get her camera. Such a long wait for a 4 year old....which it did eventually turn out to be a long wait. Since Grandma's camera batteries were dead! The last picture she is sitting on the soccer ball saying, "Come on already!" But that's how I got to get the pictures of our girl being.....Becky!

For this layout I used only 3 full sheets of patterned paper and some white cardstock. Matted my photos; some separate and others grouped. Placed my two strips on the pages in a continuous line, but flipped the page over to add the Felt Soccer Ball Trim. I wanted to add something to the other side. So, using an old kids plastic stencil misted "my" Soccer Ball. FYI Secret Cover-up:Which ran into each other patches on the ball! BUT my checklist covered it beautifully. Added the other misted Soccer Ball, carefully this time! Added the title with foam  pop dots and a few other little embellies! Complete with her personality showing through!

Getting Sporty

I just love sporty pages! We see so infrequently in the scrappy world sometimes. I wonder if they are just too hard to scrapbook since matching up team colors to our selections of paper is a problem. Hmmm? Well, Tammy has brought to us today a great 2 page layout with her son and his sportyness. It's awesome! Deb♥ Catching up on my son's sports book :) I do my books in "two pagers", probably because that's how I learned, and it stuck! So I got to his spring 2004 basketball photos, and I only had the two big ones...really didn't merit two pages to themselves ;) Then I noticed that he did a summer workshop that I only had a few (and mostly blurry) pictures that my husband took. So to flow them together, I did the block of blue with the starred circles in the middle, and then used the same elements on each page. Makes them work for a two pager, yet sets them apart as two different sessions, KWIM? The paper is Adornit, I used Thickers for the title, and a hodge podge of embellishments I had on hand. Thanks, Tammy :)

A 2 Pager from Jean Today :)

My 7 year old daughter recently asked me why the scrapbook stores still had Christmas stickers, etc out. Well that was a perfect moment to explain to her how in our scrapbooking we work on many albums at many times, and/or because we may just be getting to Christmas photos. She does scrapbook some, but I am busy preparing her to become a scrap-a-holic in the future so knowing that is important right? LOL!

I think you will see that in Jean's Christmas layout that she is busy getting caught up and creating wonderful projects using our one and only Heather's sketch from February 10th too!
Deb♥

I used Heather's great sketch for another layout for my Christmas album. We always head north 2 1/2 hours to visit my mom and sisters. This year we decided to go on Christmas eve day instead of Christmas day. It was less chaotic and made the visit more fun. This sketch allowed me to scrap many photos at once!

Heather's Sketch by Tammy :)

I always love having a great sketch to inspire me and I also love to see the Groovy Chicks connecting with one they love too. Tammy took one from Heather's drawn sketches that we just showed this past Friday and she used it to help her create this great 2 pager :)
Deb♥

I took Heather's sketch and mirrored it so I could do a double. The first photo shows the double, on the 2 other photos, I took them at a slight angle so you can see the sheen to the background paper, and the added hot pink Stickle accents and silver glitter stickers I added. Other than that, I kept it pretty simple. I used S.E.I. patterned paper. Tammy :)

Scraps with Viji!

I know we can all relate to lots of scraps laying around at this time of year...a thought...grab some of the leftover Christmas wrap and then read on for what Viji did with scraps. Maybe you can be inspired to scrap with one type of paper or another?
Deb♥

I made this two page layout using scraps of paper from my stash! I want Sid to do the journaling for this one, so yes it is still not done! But I really want it to be his words..not mine! Using scraps is fun and its a good way to use all those tiny bits of paper you have! Happy Scrapping!

A 2 Pager!!!

So rare these days to see a 2 pager so when one of The Groovy Chicks show up with one I am elated! This is why! Take a look at all the movement on Viji's layout and how well her story is told just with her pictures! I love it! Deb♥

Happy Day! I am in love with Echo Park papers. They are so vibrant and happy, just perfect. I matched up the fence on all the pictures. I did the journaling under the photos. I took one photo and made it the focus of the layout. Banners add so much fun to a layout! This layout is fairly simple, just different pattern papers, banner, arranging the photos differently has made it pop! I hope I have inspired you a little today!

Enjoy Life.

A really great idea for a title, short and sweet, to the point :) That is exactly what Heather has done with this awesome 2 pager :)
Deb♥

Can't believe how long it has been since I done a 2 page layout!! Not sure why either because that is all that I used to do!! When I came across these pics of my husband snowboarding this winter, I liked them all and knew it was time to do a 2 pages again so that I could include all the pics without cropping anything out of the pics!

I loved the picture on the left side. Though it looks as if it is off center, that is part of what made it my fave!! I decided to make that the focus by putting it on one page. Then I cut the other 4 pictures down to "fit" each other and adhered to white cardstock. You can also make a collage in your photo programs to print like this. I however did it manually.

I knew I wanted to keep the lo simple. My husband does not like it when I over embellish lo's about him!! Especially when I use flowers and feathers! lol! Most of what I used on this layout was a paper collection (Pebbles I think?). I cut the "Enjoy Life" from the cricut and cut the shadow. I used buttons instead of the dots for the j and i. I inked a chipboard snowflake white and then added some stickers in the collection to the points. The 4 circles down the left side were stickers in the collection that I pop dotted to give some more dimension to the page. The last thing I did was use my white gel marker to make dots around the edges of the ????? (don't know the name of that shape - haha).

Some times it is best to just use the KISS method when Scrapping!!! KISS - Keep It Simple Stupid . . . or as I prefer to call it . . . Keep it Simple Scrapper!

Firsts with Viji

Here is a special time to share with Viji and her precious sweetheart as well as a great designing tip!
Deb♥

I love doing the first layouts! They are so special. The first bath, solids, haircut, out in the stroller! So many stories to tell...
Today I am going to show you a double page layout I did for my son's 1st Haircut! I love double page layouts..you can get so many pictures on them! I usually don't print pictures smaller than 4X6. I try to crop them to a 4X4 if possible. Although, I am thinking of printing them at home in the future. So I can get different sizes. My layout is based on a sketch by Allison Davis. I forgot all about the certificate he got after his haircut. So as an after thought, I just added that to the layout. I usually pull the colors of my pattern papers based on the colors in the photos. That way they go well together. So, If the picture has a lot of yellow. I won't be using too much yellow based pattern paper. Just a bit, but try to bring out the other colors from the picture and one or two bold colors. I like to focus on the photo and not the papers. To select pattern paper, I would put my photos on the pattern papers and see if I get distracted by the paper or not. I hope you like my layout! Have fun crafting:)

A 2 Pager from Michelle!

Ah Yes, those were the days. Remember once upon a time when EVERYONE did 2 pagers? A great majority of people have gotten away from them and I am glad to see Michelle bring one to us today to show that they are still a great way to tell a story with the use of more than one photo!!!

DICTIONARY CHALLENGE: DARLENE

For our challenge this month I think Darlene chose the perfect word for her lo. Read on!
Deb♥

I had these photos of myself from my high school graduation that I never really got a chance to scrapbook. I didn't quite know what to do with the multiple pictures because I normally use only 1 or 2 photos on a layout, so I decided my best bet would be to do a double sided layout. This worked like a charm! I found the sketch for my design from

Christmas in July?

After doing some homework about how the tradition of Christmas in July started I found that Wikipedia had this written:

"In the northern hemisphere during the summer months the weather becomes increasingly warm and many people crave the atmosphere of cooler temperatures, gift giving and holiday spirit. To satisfy this, some people throw parties during the month of July that mimic the holiday of Christmas. The features of Christmas in July include Santa Claus, ice cream and other cold foods and gifts. Nightclubs often host parties open to the public."

It is HOT in July and I think I can understand that craving :)

In the spirit of things I created a Christmas layout of my own. Since it seems to be the time I take the most photographs this seemed the perfect time to have a 2 pager to add to my Christmas albums. I took my little one out last December to the local Toys R Us and let her show me everything she wanted. These are some of the things she chose. What a fun trip it was too! She is forever watching TV and saying "I want that Santa Claus" like she thinks he is listening, and "he" is ;) so I thought that would be a great title for this.

Guess how many days it is to Christmas???

2 Pagers Using Cardboard-UPDATED

I can honestly say I don't ever remember seeing a scrapbook page using cardboard that I did not like. It is easily found, adds texture, can be easily manipulated, and looks like that stuff we all love so much: Kraft!

Here are our 2 Page Chicks' creations using cardboard...hurry go break down a box and see what you too can do using this great stuff with a surprise!!! I contacted ClaraD who is a Veteran at scrapbook.com and she has created a layout she titles "One" that inspired the firls this month. Wanna see? All are based on a Becky Higgins sketch from July 2008 if you too would like to give this cool 2 pager a try :)

September 2 Pagers Are Strutting Their Stuff See?

AMY, Our Lead 2 Page Artist has been joined with two new chicks and one returning. What an exciting team and awesome artists. I am stoked to introduce you to each of them, but for now I will show you their layouts and a picture of them so you can get some scrapping inspiration today. Remember to mix in a 2 pager to those scrapbooks of yours and after you see these layouts below, trust me...you will want to go back in time and do it again if you have not done so for awhile!!! They used a layout to inspire them created by a friend Kimmi on scrapbook.com and I will be sure to get in touch with her to see if she would not mind us also showcasing her layout along with our 2 page ladies :)

UPDATE:

Kimmi and I have been in contact and she has agreed to allow her layout to be shown here alongside of our DT :) Here is her lo and some words about it...

"This is me building my snowman. I have waited for a few years now to have enough snow to build a snowman so I jumped at the chance before all our snow melts. This was done using a Pagemap for February 2009 by Becky Fleck. I stitched the border, journalling card and snowflake trails with embroidery thread and I made the scallops to the pp..." Please visit Kim on scrapbook.com and look for SuperAllyFan to see other works of hers. Thanks again Kimmi!
