I am Royally Inspired ")
Over on the Fiskateers board I added a few layouts tonight to play along with a few challenges. Lead Tami asked us to play in her Royal Challenge and since the handsome Wills and his bride Kate were married today I decided it was WAY PAST time to pull out some photos from my own wedding to scrap. I know I am not alone in it taking too long to scrapbook my wedding as I have run into many through the years who feel the same- weddings are just too hard to do. I think what it boils down to for me is that it needs to be perfect since it represents such a special day.
I got over it and went for it. I have so many more pics from that day that I cannot go wrong with at least completing a few today.
Hope you take the time to scrapbook your wedding! Sending you many wishes to get those done...mine are 17 years late! Do you have me beat?

Hidden Journaling
I know I shared with you that I am designing over at The Moments, but the one thing I have not told you that I LOVE about The Moments is that on Friday night there is a sketch posted 7pm EST and you have 2 hours to put your spin on it and come back to share :) If you have not joined please do and tell them I sent you so we can both be entered in their April prize contest. When you get there look for the tab that has Friday Fast Track if you want to come play along ")
Here is the sketch that was posted last night and the layout I created to go along with it. I know that journaling is something that is important to a lo and I am trying harder to include more of it since I have not been doing that lately, So, I thought about that when I created this lo and if you take a look at the following photos you can see that I adhered the journaling to the back of my photo and allowed for it to swing from under it. One day when my daughter is grown it may be a little mystery for her! Try it, it was easy and fun!
Thanks for coming by!

Have a Happy Earth Day!
Are you celebrating Earth today? No matter where you live or are visiting you can celebrate today!
I began celebrating by going through my scraps box last night and punched out as many shapes as possible with pieces of paper that otherwise would have headed for the trash can. I threw away anything that had gotten dirty, then sorted the paper into two piles: one for cards, the other for little touches on a scrapbook layout. It felt great to reorganize and not create a lot of trash!!!
I also wanted to give you a heads-up about something I read. Picnic for the Planet mentions attending or having a picnic to show love for our bodies and our earth by eating nutritious food grown locally, eating smart, and getting outside. I am ALL for that! I am a strict vegetarian so fruits and veggies are best buds of mine and well I'm sort of a tree hugger too ") So today I will be treating myself and my little daughter to a picnic and I think I might just go and hug a beautiful tree and thank her for all the she provides. Don't laugh! Since trees generously provide paper for we paper crafters we have to be aware that we should plant more trees and be sure to use what we need and make as little waste as possible.
I hope you go outside today if you get the time and have a picnic too :) Don't forget to reuse glass jars, cut down on plastic where possible and to never ever ever litter. It is groovy to be green!

Coloring with Copics
Heather would like to show us how she enjoys Copic markers...the stamp is so cute! See you next week with another ;)
Deb♥
I must admit that I was not sure about the Copics when I first started hearing about them! But as soon as I tried them and found how wonderful they are to use, I never looked back! I mainly use them to color digital stamps! A lot of times I will color and color and color and . . . but then when I need a card, I can grab one that is complete and put a quick card together for just the right occasion! Sometimes I even make up the cards and just add the sentiment when I am in quick need of a card! Hope you enjoy these cards I made using my Copics! I have always enjoyed coloring with crayons since I was little. I always found coloring to be very relaxing and stress-relieving! Now I have just changed from crayons to Copics!

Cute Stamping!
Jen found a great stamp in her stash! Check this out...
Deb♥
Ok. Please don’t think I am corny, but I like to leave my dh notes/cards in his lunch bag . lol! But it is always so hard to find special cards that are masculine and so I whipped up this card to tell him I love him and this is what I came up with.(oh and I found this computer stamp in my stamp stash that I got from a garage sale...isn’t it super cute?!) Tfl!

Masking Project
Hi Groovy Friends! Ya know it is so important to try new things now and then. When I first tried masking I thought I would never "get it". I never turn down a challenge though so I tried the turning my ink pad upside down and bounced it over an image. Nothing too exciting. I want to find techniques that make me feel happy :) like when we visit a new scrapbook store that we did not know existed, but then all of sudden it is on your vacation route (sort of lol!).
I did hear angels sing when I discovered Glimmer Mist and Screens!!!
They are the bom! Seriously!
Lately I have been designing for a new and upcoming blog called Let's Get Peachy and we were asked to create a layout this month with masking. Wanna see what I did using those products I just mentioned and my faithful Sharpie?
Come on by there when you have seen all of our new projects here and take a peek at LGP too! Maybe you can share with us some masking projects of your own.
Thanks for coming by today and taking a look around :)

Daddy's Little Girl
EVERY time Darlene shows us a picture of her little dollbaby daughter I cannot help but think just how much the two of them look alike! Both are beautiful young ladies and I think Darlene has given us a SUPERB idea today to involve our children's fathers for the scrapbooks that one day they will treasure.
Deb♥
My little girl loves her daddy so much. She is so cute posing with him on this day at the duck pond last Summer, so naturally, I had to snap some shots of them two. :)
I used mostly scraps of Sassafras paper for this simple design, with just a touch of Basic Grey chipboard and cute various brads to make it all work together.
I convinced the husband to write the journaling in his own handwriting for once—this way my daughter has a record of his handwriting and his words for her as well, amongst the many layouts I have handwritten on for her. Maybe this small way of being involved with my craft will make him a more likely participant of the scrapping hobby. Wouldn’t all wives want their husbands to show a bit more interest? Try sneaking in the “just journal what you want here” line and see if you get through. :))

Silvana's Scrap Space
Scrapbooking and organizing go hand in hand don't you think? So often people will say that they have bought something before and then turn around and buy it again. Well sharing where we scrap is just as important I think is sharing what we scrap/ So, today Silvana would like to show us a view of her place. Enjoy!
Deb♥
In my new scrap area I still have a long to-do list, but one of the first things I did was to put some storage space in the wall so I can utilize that space,I need every little space I can get specially for storage since I don't like anything other that the essential things in my desk. I was looking for something cheap, so after some research I decide to go to Home Depot and get some brackets and some white shelves.... but once I got there in the closet section I saw these white stackable organizers for shoes which are just the perfect height for a photo storage box (3 x $5.00 at Michael's) which I was looking to put in the shelf in the first place....so I got 2 ($9.00 each / cheaper than the price for shelves + brakets) and my DH installed for me in the wall I don't like the big triangular brackets but he said that I really need something heavy duty and these kind of brackets since I was putting a lot of boxes probably with heavy things on it =). I have lots of empty gerber baby food containers and after I peel the label and wash then put all my flowers sorter by colors in it (still in my to-do list paint the lids pink or silver with spray paint) I thinks this was a great solution to my flower storage problem =) Well girls I hope any of my ideas to make my scrap area a little more organize and neat have help you ={ and share with us some of your ideas

Cooking with Michelle
I am pleased to show you another lo this month made by Michelle where her family is cooking together. These make awesome gifts for others when you include a recipe. Hoping you will consider doing one for a member of your family. It is so important to write down the recipes for those who will want them one day :)
Deb♥
This layout was just another part of the family Christmas Cookie Making Extravaganza. Since I started this layout and kept waiting for the hand-written recipe from my mom. The other half of my planned page somehow got lost. The funny thing is that I keep a 3-ring binder with all my works in progress pages. So, for this page I had to make changes in the previous planned layout. I had a cute plan that the first page of the layout would show the three workers busy working. While on the second page I would include the recipe and pics of my mom. My mom, who was on a break since she got side tracked by her granddaughter. I of course was the photographer and missing in the pictures. But again it is always the way!
For the layout I used solid Cranberry cardstock, which got trimmed down in the new plan. So, that I could include the recipe slot with another piece of patterned paper. Cut out the title with the Cricut and sanded the edges to show the white core of the tan cardstock. Tied a silver ribbon to each beginning letter, since you use Hersey's Kisses in the recipe. Matted all photos but the one placed cock-eyed.

Album Designing
In the scrappy mood but not enough time to play other than a less time consuming project? Try this!
Deb♥
What a fun and simple thing I was easy to do to dress up a Christmas gift! Some nieces have started scrapbooking (7th grader and Freshman) and so I bought them some scrapbooking supplies for Christmas. I also bought them some albums! However, since the albums were just alike and they were going to sisters, I decided to personalize them.
As you can see from the first picture, I took a plain fabric covered scrapbook. I then used my Gypsy to design the name that I wanted to put on the book. I cut this design on my Cricut out of vinyl. I have discovered that using the transfer tape to transfer the vinyl to the project makes it MUCH easier!
The second pic shows the finished album. I added the name in brown vinyl and then added the smaller butterfly to the top corner of the photo slot.
Hubby has asked me to cut something out of vinyl to put on the front of oldest son's new drum set! I am also going to cut the triplets names out of vinyl to put on their Leapster Explorers so they know whose is whose! So many things that you can use the vinyl for!
What other ideas do you have or have you used vinyl for? Please share with me! I am always looking for new ways to play with vinyl!
God Bless, Heather

Collage Fun!
-Circus With Daddy-
Okay can I just say I love this layout!
I realize it’s nothing fancy, but I love it because it has so many pictures, 10 total, and was super easy to make!
I don’t know about you but...sometimes I take a whole lotta pics of an event and then when I want to scrap them, I either have to make multiple layouts to fit all the pics or I have to choose my favs to scrap. I have ‘Scrappers A.D.D.’ so I just cannot make multiple pages of the same event and most of the time it is hard for me to narrow down “the favs”. Well, my solution is to create a collage w/ my pics. This particular collage I ordered at Winkflash, my online photo printing service. Although I could create it at home, I was already ordering my regular prints so I decided to see if they had a collage option. They did and it was really easy to use! All I had to do was select the size (mine is an 8x10) border color (mine is white) and orientation (mine is portrait) and then click and drag my pics where I wanted them in the template. Finally I edited the way the pics where centered in each square of the template and then I saved and added it to my cart. I love the look of it and feel that it captures my daughter’s circus experience very well!
Whichever way you decide to do it, at home or through a printing service, next time you want to scrap a lot of pics try creating a collage.
I’m certain you’ll be glad you did!

LAST DAY TO BLOG HOP! It's Our Holiday Blog Hop!!!
***Crop Ends at 10PM EST on Sunday, Keep Going***
It is FINALLY here! A day off from cleaning house. It's National No Housework Day and if it isn't in your country it should be! I personally am loving this holiday already! We have a total of 42 blog hostesses prepared to show you how they are celebrating today. You will find the list below my project. Read further down to see how you can earn a prize too :) I created this project below to help me get through the mess that was being created in my house last month.
We had quite a disaster zone in our bathroom and throughout the house! When the workmen went home and left big messes for me each night, I still wanted to sweep because of all the dust they were creating. I use the term "wanted to" very loosely because really it was a need. A need to have some sort of order from the catastrophe they were creating and need for my allergies to be under control.I know right?!?! Wanna see what they did to my bathroom on day one?
Here is why it all began: Mildew! Clean clean clean and this stuff would NOT go away. SO it took tearing down all the walls, the floor, the ceiling, the vanity, removal of the toilet, the tub, linen closet, and master bedroom closet! NASTY!
It turned out much better than I expected but the guys who did the work did leave a residue on the new floor they put down and paint on my hardwood floor down the hall and get this!!! when they rehung the towel bar and toilet paper holder it was not tight enough so both have fallen off already along with the overflow in the tub...still need some work or I would show you the outcome. Let's get down to business! All you have to do is leave me a comment telling me what housework you are avoiding today that is a must for every other day of the year and where in the world you are to earn your chance at a big box of new scrapbooking paper of assorted companies :) All is in mint condition and smoke free. I know that is important to some so just in case :) Now on your way from here to the next blog hopping chick (#2) but in case you lose your way here is a master list of scrappy bloggers not cleaning house today!!! Go see 'em all. You have until April 10,10PM. Thanks for being here! We ♥ You! Deb♥

Bingo Words for Friday! #12, #13, #14
Cinderella is back and ready for some housework....better her than me ;)
Let me show you what she has been up to tonight. Here she is cleaning the MIRRORS, then IRONING and looking like it is not so bad, but then check out the DISHES after there was not someone to wash them while Mom (that's me) celebrated No Housework Day! I feel so abused and unappreciated when I see the sink looking like that!!! Gosh! Hope your house wasn't demolished on your holiday! See you tomorrow unless someone calls BINGO!

Hans Christian Andersen: Doreen
Doreen is checking in today with her HCA layout. She is sharing a personal story with all of us and let me just say how sorry I am for this loss in your life Doreen and also how amazing I think it is that you did something so important to me: rescue!
Deb♥
When presented w/ this challenge I was going to read each story and decide which most related to my life or part of my life.
There was 2 problems w/ that:
1> this guy wrote a lot of stories
2> most of them are sad or dark (well at least the ones I read were)
So I tried a different tactic, go thru the titles of his stories and pick the one that stood out to me. The first one that stood out to me was "The Daisy". I didn't know what that story was about but I knew I had a doggie named Daisy, and that I hadn't scrapped her in a while so I chose that one!
The layout I created of Daisy is a couple of pics of her that are really "in your face". I did that because my journaling reveals how the first time I saw her I actually thought she was scary-looking!!
(Not knowing her and seeing that face, don't you think so too?)
Let me give you some background on Daisy: My grandfather passed away 2 years ago and he left behind 2 doggies, Ivanna - my little poodle (and now BFF), and Daisy. Of course I fell in love w/ Ivanna cuz she was a little cutie pie but Daisy? Yikes! Did I tell you I am afraid of dogs? Well I am, and when I saw this giant crazy looking dog, I was afraid. But out of the kindness of my heart I took both of them in. At the time it was temporary until my mom could find them another home...well 2 years later they are still here LOL! Love them! :0)
The journaling reads: "When I first saw Daisy I thought she was scary-looking. Now that I know her I realize she is a really sweet and loving dog!"
Oh, and I did read the story of "The Daisy" and of course it was sad. Man that Hans Christian Anderson had some issues! LOL!

Hans Christian Andersen: Groovy Deb♥
Hey Everyone! It's my turn to show my HCA layout :)
Pictured is my daughter who loves having her pictures taken! Ya know when she was little I had to actually *force* her into letting me take pics of her. I remember being in Nags Head, NC and telling her if she did not let me take pictures of her while there that she could not go to the playground! Well, that was ten years ago and here she is now and my how things have changed! Her close friend takes these beautiful photos of her all the time :)
Since she is getting close to adult age I decided to add on a Bible verse on this layout to give some advice that I hope she will keep close :)
Let me share that with you as well! It is the reason I chose "A Leaf from Heaven" as my title from Hans himself!
Psalm 1:3
And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
Pretty right?
SHOUT OUT TO MY HUSBAND: HAPPY BIRTHDAY HUSBAND! I ♥ U!!!

Hans Christian Andersen: Heather
I am a sucker for hand journaling on a layout. This is one made by Heather and truly in my opinion will be added to treasures for her family. Anytime you tell a story about those in your family tree you are honoring those who have walked before us. Good work Heather and p.s. I LOVE this technique you shared with us!

When given the challenge to do a layout using a title from Hans Christian Anderson, I really wanted to find one that I could relate to the story as well. Well, I didn't have that much luck but I did find a title I could use.
This lo was really healing for me. The picture is of my grandfather. I miss him so much even though it has been 5 years. I wanted to honor him and so I did this layout for my boys. My grandfather, their great-grandfather, passed away about a month before they were born. The journaling includes my thoughts on that, how much he would have loved them, and his and my relationship. There is more journaling underneath (note pull tab) also that tells of some of my favorite memories with my grandpa.
This is probably the most "vintage" I have ever gotten for a lo! I love how it turned out! I cut the center out of the paper and then cut the corners at an angle. I then sprayed the paper with water and then used my heat gun to roll the paper to get in place. I like how it made a "frame for not only my pic but also for all the embellies!
Most of the layout was done using My Minds Eye "Stella Rose" (my great-grandmothers name) collection. The flowers and bling are by Prima. The yellowish chipboard buttons are by Graphic 45. The title stickers and wood grained yellow and are by Studio Calico. The ribbon (which I love) was just a strand I picked up! (UPDATE: It's Prima . . . no wonder I love it!) The paper lace underneath the pic is by Little Yellow Bicycle and then I used a stipple brush to "age" it. I think I got almost everything for this layout at CKC Convention this year! haha!!
Hope you find some inspiration!

Hans Christian Andersen: Michelle
Michelle is here today to show us her version of a layout using a title by HCA, "The Great Sea Serpent". She is sharing with us some Geography and History. I feel smarter already ")
Let's learn more...
Deb♥
I searched through the titles of Hans Christian Anderson’s works and “The Great Sea-Serpent” title first popped out at me. I was thinking about something with the pool or bath time pics. But then I remembered these pictures I had of some ugly looking fish. Then went back and read the story. So, as you can see I went with the ugly fish because the story was about the sea and the transatlantic telegraph cable. The Transatlantic telegraph cable runs from Ireland into content of North America in Newfoundland. Which relates to where the pictures were taken on my father-in-law’s boat somewhere off the coast between Fermuse and Bay Bulls, Newfoundland. Now, as for the ugly fish Newfoundlanders call it Sculpin. But from what I can find online it looks more like a cross between a Monk fish and a Sea Raven. The Sculpin, which seem to be a fresh-water small fish.
Background paper used was from DCWV Photo Stack 2, matting Cocoa Cardstock from Close to My Heart(CTMH) and I copied the image of the map and section of the story onto Ivory parchment. Tag was from a pack of 2 3/4x1 3/8 Shipping Tags. I distressed edges of all the papers and cardstock. Inked up the edges of the papers and tag with CTMH Cocoa water-based ink. Stamped my title using the CTMH Old World Alphabet in Cococa. Added additional stamped elements.

BINGO Words 4 and 5...You Watching?
Hans Christian Andersen: Jen T
Jen is showing us a new lo for our HCA challenge. I think she pickjed a really good title that is befitting for her pic don't you?
Deb♥
From Jen:
The reluctant Angel turned out to be the perfect title for this picture(the title inspired by Hans Christian Andersen story -The Angel )unlike his story this PIC speaks volumes on how unhappy she was to participate as an angel in the churches Christmas show. Pout face and all I think she still looked so cute! I can’t wait to see what you create for this challenge! Tfl!

BINGO WORDS 2 and 3...ready?
Hans Christian Andersen with Darlene
Today as part of our Hans Christian Andersen Birthday Week Darlene is here to show us an ADORABLE puppy layout. Just see how cute...
Deb♥
My puppy Zoey was so much smaller just weeks ago. She is getting big.. and thankfully less needy, fast! She used to constantly bite toes, claw up the carpet, and chew on everything! Thank goodness those slightly annoying stages are over, although she was and is awfully cute, if I do say so myself! :)
I had this really adorable photo of her from when she was about 3 months ago, and I knew I had to scrap it. It fit in well with the title of "Little Tiny." :)
I used some of my Sassafras Bungle Jungle line for the papers and colors on this layout and used Sassafras whimsies cards and alphabets. The chipboard throughout is from Basic Grey.
Maybe I should add some journaling about her puppy behavior after all, now that I think of it! :)

April Showers vs. Baby Showers
Spring is in the air I hope! With April comes showers but have you given any thought to having a baby present prepared for the next baby shower you are invited to? I think Darlene has a cute idea to share with us today, one that is something we could all pull together if we know we welcome a new baby soon! Give it a try!
Deb♥
My cousin had a baby girl a few months ago and I thought it would be a nice gesture if I made her a pre-made layout that she could put in a shadow box. Her baby shower colors were brown and pink, so I thought to add blue and green pops for more interest. :)
I was browsing through Michaels one day when I saw this shiny house paper, and just knew that it was perfect for baby Sophia’s layout… so I picked up 3 sheets… a girl can’t ever have too much paper ya’ know! :)
I used my 2 inch Fiskars scallop punch as well as my 1.5 inch circle punch within the scallops as my flowers. I then handcut out some hearts from coordinating scrap paper and pop-dotted the scallops. I was trying to get creative with my punch, since they were already out, so I used my circle punch to make ‘ticket’ corner punches on the corners of my paper (hello multi-purpose punch!) and I used my scallop punch as a border punch for the pink 12 inch strip where the title sits. I thought I was being pretty clever, so maybe I will try that technique with other punches one day. :)

BINGO GROOVY STYLE WORD 1
Celebrating Hans Christian Andersen:Silvana
Can you believe it is April already? It is time for a new challenge! This week I am going to show you the work of The Groovy Chicks as we celebrate Hans Christian Andersen's birthday. Officially his birthday is April 2, now noted as International Children's Book Day . He wrote many many stories, fairy tales and poetry that I am sure we can remember back from childhood such as Thumbelina and The Little Mermaid.
Our challenge this month is to create a layout using a title from one of those stories...why not check one out at your local library and read to a child and help to celebrate literacy in our younger generations while you're at it :)It is National Literacy Month too!
Here is a list of other stories HCA wrote to help give you a jumpstart:
The Snow Queen
The Emperor's New Clothes
The Ugly Duckling
The Princess and the Pea
The Little Match Girl
Google for more, there are many to choose from! Create a lo and email groovydeb@yahoo.com or leave a link here :) Your prize if chosen by Random.org will be pictured on the right of this blog post -------------------->>>>>>>>>>
Here comes Silvana to start us off this month with her layout called The Butterfly. Let's check in with her so she can tell us all about it as well :)
Deb♥
I have made lots of layouts but this one is definately in my top 5 I really love how this page come out is so feminine and sweet. For this month challenge we have to choose a title from Hans christian Andersen "fairy tales and stories" and he has so many I was undecided between "the red shoes" and "the butterfly" didn't have the pics to go with it yet so I took some =)
The ones for the red shoes weren't great and I just love all the ones where my daugther is wearing her butterfly costume. This was her costume for last halloween but in all the pics from halloween she is either wearing a coat or you can't really appreciate her costume, that's the reason I took new ones and I am glad I did it =)
The colors I chose for my page were to match her costume so lots of pink and green ... I did the ruffle ribbon at the bottom of the pic which I love, a big and beautiful butterfly of course and the title was cut in my Cricut and that's all.
Have you done your HCA page? If not I invite you to do it and have some fun with it as I did :)
Silvana
